The Pennsylvania Training Center for Health Equity (PATCHE) offers Community Health Workers training courses that meet certifications standards established through the Pennsylvania Certification Board. PA Area Health Education Center (AHEC) regions offer training courses designed to provide the core competencies needed for work in community-based and inpatient settings. This training also provides comprehensive information about accessing healthcare and other social/community resources which are specific to the region in the training location site.

Tuition for the certification course is $1,500 and includes:

1. All course fees and materials

2. CPR/First Aid Certification

3. Adult or Youth Mental Health First Aid Certification

4. Joining the CHW Collaborative Community for ongoing education and support
