Adult Mental Health First Aid
The Adult Mental Health First Aid (AMHFA) course is appropriate for anyone age 18 and older who wants to learn how to help a person who may be experiencing a mental health related crisis or problem. It teaches people how to recognize signs of mental health or substance use challenges in adults ages 18 and older, how to offer and provide initial help, and how to guide a person toward appropriate care if necessary. Topics covered include anxiety, depression, psychosis, and addictions. This is an 8-hour course that focuses on recovery and resiliency. The Adult Mental Health First Aid course is appropriate for anyone age 18 and older who wants to learn how to help a person who may be experiencing a mental health related crisis or problem.
Everyone can play an essential role in helping those with mental health or addiction concerns. The AMHFA and YMHFA are 8-hour courses with the option for In-Person, Virtual, and Blended training formats. Participants receive a 3-year certification that will be available online after completion of the course.
